Last updated: 2026. This is a plain-English summary for the GemBoss marketing site; your signed agreement governs in case of conflict.
GemBoss is a layer on top of your Shopify store. We collect only what we need to build, run, and optimize your storefront, and it stays yours.
What we collect
- Account details you provide (name, work email, store URL).
- First-party storefront analytics: clicks, views, and sales. Measured on your store.
- Where shoppers click and how far they scroll, recorded as counts per grid cell on a page, not as a trace of any one person. No IP address, no device fingerprint, no user agent.
- Operational data needed to build and maintain your storefront.
How we use it
- To build, optimize, QA, and report on your store.
- To provide support and improve the product.
- We do not sell your data.
Your data is yours
Analytics are first-party and exportable to CSV at any time. Cancel and your store keeps working. There is no proprietary lock-in. Raw events are retained ~90 days; rollups ~2 years. Click and scroll maps are kept for less than that, and how much less depends on your plan: a map describes a layout, and the layout changes long before the data would expire.
Consent & security
Capture is consent-aware and honors each shopper's privacy choice. Access is controlled; Partner plans add SSO and per-tenant data isolation.
